Former Financial Review Young Rich Lister Guy King sold his sprawling hillside mansion for more than $12 million to the Salah family in the Bay Area.
'It's been on our mind for quiet awhile now,' says Michael Salah, 'this is our dream home, and we plan on staying here for the rest of our lives.'
14-year old daughter, Crystal Salah, is saying how this was the last thing she expected.
'My dad is stubborn, but moving to Texas was the last thing I expected. I wan't really in for it, but once I saw the basketball courts.....'
Built in 2008, this home on a Westlake hillside, was designed by Larue Architects, practitioners of the art of the Hill Country contemporary—a style that has evolved over the years but has retained its basic characteristics.
There are a few details that give away its origins in the late aughts, but for the most part, it leans toward classic rather than dated. According to the listing it’s one of a handful of homes that sits on the Austin Country Club Golf course—the putting green of Hole 12, to be exact.
The two-story main home has three bedrooms three and a half bathrooms; there’s also a one-bedroom, one-bathroom guest, making for a grand total of 4,773 square feet. The open floor plan and abundant, gigantic windows create a smooth transition from indoors to its outdoor porches and entertainment areas. There’s a pool and hot tub, of course, as well as a three-car garage.
