After months of talking CSX finally acquires what every major Railroad has wanted for years. Monday evening agreements were made as the CSX railroad purchased the Indiana Harbor belt railroad formerly the New York Central/Conrail. The ihb currently is one of the most busy Short Line Railroad with every major railroad intersecting it through Illinois and Indiana. Although primarily ran by NS (Northfolk Southern) it is estimated that it was purchased for 590 million dollars, trumping the Canadian Pacific offer three years ago of 500 million. Calls were made to try to contact the IHB but we were told no comments would be made at this time. To stay up-to-date with with the latest news subscribe to our newsletter @ nwitimes.com
