Sources indicate that Acting U.S. Attorney Clifford D. Johnson will soon announce further charges against a possible accomplice to Lake County Sheriff John Buncich.
The U.S. attorney's office is currently working with the Federal Bureau of Investigations in bringing additional bribery, fraud and racketeering charges to unnamed accomplice.
The accomplice has only been identified as a Merrillville Police officer who participated in illegal activities between June 3, 2014 to July 18, 2014.
Merrillville Police Chief Joe Petruch was not reachable for any questions regarding the incident.
